Gowan Consulting is a Canadian-owned organization with a team of Occupational Therapists located in every province. We provide in-person and virtual services nationally as well as training and consultation internationally.
We aspire to assist ourselves and others in achieving meaningful work lives. We have assisted thousands of employees with life challenges to remain in the workforce while caring for their health. The tools, strategies, and support that our Occupational Therapists provide pave the way for employees to recover and achieve long-lasting success in their careers.

Our History
How We Began
Throughout Nancy Gowan's career, she has had the privilege of working with national and local employers to develop and implement sustainable health and work solutions. In 1999, the Gowan Consulting dream began with Nancy and a few employers who wanted to do the best in disability management to support employees in the return to work process.
In 2002, Melanie Weller joined Nancy to support customers’ needs throughout the GTA and Southwestern Ontario. Organizations like NCR Canada, BMO, and Bell saw the benefits of supporting employees in the workplace through structured return to work strategies and accommodations. The national presence of our dedicated customers drew us to provide the same support across Canada and services into the United States. We are thankful for the customers who have allowed us to be trusted partners in their employment health and productivity journey.
Where We Are Now
We now have a network of dedicated and expert Occupational Therapists across Canada. They support our customers and their employees by providing strategies for health and productivity that optimize their abilities at work. We pride ourselves in being a woman-owned business supporting employees to recover, return to work, and be provided with sustainable accommodations in the workplace. We also share our knowledge through training services so that employers can have the same skills to support employees in the workplace.
As Nicolette Gowan joins our leadership team, we look at her carrying on the tradition that we have set as a company of quality, customer-oriented, and work-focused services that endeavors to solve the new challenges of the workplace and workforce. Nicolette believes that healthy work can change lives and she brings that passion to her own team and the teams of our customers. We all work together for your healthy business!
